Affiliate Link Generating Bookmark
When you install the bookmark, you will be asked to enter your Affiliate Window ID, so that it can generate links with the correct tracking in. The tool then sits patiently in your bookmarks toolbar, waiting, then when you’re viewing a deal on our website and want to share it with your affiliate tracking, you simply click the bookmark and you’ll be presented with a bar at the top of the page with a whole host of sharing options:
Affiliate Link Code
Generates two snippets of code; Firstly an HTML link and secondly, your direct tracking URL.
Will open up your default email program with your tracked link to the deal inserted into the body of the email
Shares the deal to your Facebook wall or fan page through your tracking link
Opens up Twitter so that you can tweet the deal through your tracking link
Opens up Pinterest so that you can pin the deal with your tracking link

Just bookmarked the page and put affiliate code in gone to a deals page and then clicked on the Groupon bookmarklet but no sharing option comes down.
Hi Rob. Hmm, seems odd. Can you let me know what browser you’re using and which Groupon pages you’ve tried?
Nice, works well too. The only time is has an issue is when the url isn’t groupon.co.uk, but say getaways.groupon.co.uk, I think that’s the problem Rob has. Follow these steps:
Go to Groupon – Select London West (for example) and then the ‘Getways’ tab and choose (for example) the Spanish GP deal from the grid of deals and when the Spanish GP deal is displayed, the URL is getaways.groupon.co.uk – when clicking the bookmarklet too, it doesn’t appear and takes you to groupon.co.uk – clicking it again then works but you’re on a different page. Probably only a small issue and should be easily fixed
Ah, I see! Nicely discovered. I’ve mentioned this to our developer and he’ll be looking into applying a fix hopefully some time today.
Rob and Adam, thanks to you both for flagging up this issue. The tool now works properly for deals on getaways.groupon.co.uk as well as groupon.co.uk
Hi Bill, Using Firefox and tried the Bradford main goods page, the Vehicle Rental page on Getaways and others but the sharing option does not come down when you have clicked on the Bookmarked link.
Hmm. I’m a bit stumped here I’m afraid Rob. I’m not able to recreate the same problem so it’s proving difficult to investigate this. Are you able to try reinstalling Firefox?
Did you manage to get it working Rob? We’ve just made a small update; if you could give it another go and give me some feedback as to whether it’s working for you, that would be awesome.

Just tried to post a deal on Pinterest and it blocked it complaining that some people had reported it as spam. Has anyone else had this problem?
Hi Peter. No one else has flagged this up yet, but the tool hasn’t been out for too long so it could be you’re the first to come across it. We’ll have a look into it, see if we can find the issue and get back to you asap. Thanks for the pointer!

Hi Jai, glad you’re finding it useful! Our developer has a V.2 of the bookmark tool on his to-do list, and V.2 will include the option to add a ‘clickref‘ meaning you can view sales coming through the bookmark tool separately from the rest of your sales. We’re hoping to have V.2 out shortly!
