Sometime it’s useful that Groupon.co.uk is Geo-Targeted, but sometimes you want to be able to link directly to a specific deal. This could be for a number of reasons; because you know it fits in well with your demographic, because it’s the deal you’re talking about in your blog post, because you want to share it Twitter or Facebook or just because it’s your life and you’ll do what you flippin’ want to!

You can do this really simply within Affiliate Window or just as easy manually:

Take your affiliate text link

http://www.awin1.com/awclick.php?mid=2891&id=YourAffiliateIDHere

add

&p=

then add the URL from the address bar of the deal you want to link to

http://www.groupon.co.uk/deals/national-deal/ASOS/270308

You end up with something the looks a little bit like this

http://www.awin1.com/awclick.php?mid=2891&id=YourAffiliateIDHere&p=http://www.groupon.co.uk/deals/national-deal/ASOS/270308

The link you’ve just created will link directly to the deal you picked, via your Affiliate Window tracking link, so you can be sure you’ll be fully credited for all the people you send to us!

All that’s left to do is put it through a URL shortening service such as bit.ly or ow.ly and you’re good to go!

This is the method to use if you want to share a specific deal to Facebook too; it means that the correct thumbnail and description are shown.
